Help us to help them

Thank you!

IT’S been just one week since The Sunday Post Sick Children’s Appeal launched, but already the response has been phenomenal.
So far, our readers have raised an impressive £3650 to buy vital equipment for Scotland’s children’s hospitals.
Donations have been pouring in from across the country, from the south of London to the Highland village of Lairg.
The first big cheque of the week came from Albert Anderson, of Bannockburn, who has taken £200 straight from his pocket for our campaign.
A tale of misfortune from Rosemary MacKenzie from Strachur, Argyll, turned into big reward for the appeal.
She lost her gold watch when it slipped off her wrist during a shopping trip two weeks ago.
It had great sentimental value as it had been a gift from her father to her mother during World War 2.
Delighted
Rosemary reported the theft to the police and was prepared to offer a £100 reward for its return.
She was delighted when they told her it had been spotted in the supermarket and handed in.
Rosemary didn’t know the identity of her eagle-eyed saviour, so she decided to give the £100 reward to help our hospitals.
A bout of good fortune for another reader has also been a big boost. The donation came after a cash prize win for our reader — who has asked to remain anonymous.
Unable to spend the money, she said it would bring “great pleasure” to give £500 to help the campaign.
Margaret and Terry Wright from Bolton had put £25 aside to buy a celebration lunch for their 44th Wedding Anniversary last week.
Instead they decided to stay at home for dinner with a bottle of wine and give their cash for the sick children.
And there have been many more.
Keep the donations coming. Every amount, large and small, is building a fantastic foundation for our appeal.
