An invitation
to golf paradise!
Charity day
But before the grand opening, the course will stage a special charity day to raise money for the Yorkhill Children’s Foundation in association with The Sunday Post Sick Children’s Appeal.
For £500, teams of four can take part in the event on May 31 — the day before The Carrick officially opens.
Twenty four teams will compete in what promises to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for true golf enthusiasts.
The day will start with coffee and registration at the plush five-star Cameron House Hotel. From there, the teams will make their way to the stunning course.
The competition is operating with a shotgun start, which means they all start from different holes and finish at roughly the same time.
Afterwards, a buffet meal will be served at the Marina restaurant before a prize-giving ceremony.
Alan Tait, Head Golf Professional at the new course, said, “The course is fantastic, it’s up there with the best championship courses.
“It’s been built around nature reserves, so golfers will possibly
see otters and other wildlife during their round. We’ve even seen deer running about.
Exclusive
“This will be a very exclusive private golf club.
“We aim to have about 150 members in the first year, rising to a membership of between 250 and 300 by the end of 2008.
“It will also be open to the public on a pay-as-you-play basis, but fees will be more expensive than your average golf club.
“It will be very prestigious.
“We’ve already won the right to host this year’s Scottish
Ladies Open, which will attract crowds of around 10,000 people per day and feature the best
women golfers from around the world.
“Those taking part in this charity event will be assured of a special day.
“They’ll enjoy a sneak preview of the course before it’s officially opened and, considering what they’re getting, it’s a really good deal.
“We have several tee placements on each hole, which provides golfers with a variety in yardage.
“The course can be anything from a relatively straightforward 5200 yards to a real brute at more than 7000 yards.”
All money raised from the event will go to The Sunday Post Sick Children’s Appeal.
But you’d better hurry if you want to take part as places for this unique event are certain to be snapped up very quickly.
