A great golfing day

By Gary Moug

A CHARITY golf day in aid of our appeal went with a real swing last week.
Almost £6000 was raised as 25 teams of four golfers played a round at The Carrick on Loch Lomond — Scotland’s newest luxury course. The event was hailed a marvellous success by organisers and now looks set to be repeated next year.
Louise Miles, a fundraiser for the Yorkhill Children’s Foundation, said, “Thankfully the rain held off. We had a couple of showers but then the sun came out.

“Everyone was impressed. A few of the competitors are thinking of taking up membership at the course while almost everyone said they’d like to come back next year and play again.
“The golf club has already asked if we can hold the event again. This was the course’s first charity event so it was important it went well.
“We’d really like to thank Alan Tait, the course professional, Jane Thomson (operations) and all the staff for making the day run so smoothly.”

Raymond Ainslie, of the Kingdom Cup Select team, is presented with the top prize in the individual scores by club pro Alan Tait.
